DCAT Partners with Michigan State University’s Broad College of Business on Innovative Supply Chain Management Training
Robbinsville, New Jersey — January 12, 2022 — The Drug, Chemical & Associated Technologies Association (DCAT) is pleased to announce a partnership with Michigan State University’s (MSU) Broad College of Business to offer a series of professional development courses to employees of DCAT Member Companies in 2022.
Developed by faculty members at MSU’s top-ranked Department of Supply Chain Management (U.S. News & World Report, 2022) and DCAT’s Supply Management Committee, and taught by MSU faculty members, the curriculum will give professionals a competitive edge to take on the next era of supply chain management.
“We are thrilled that DCAT will partner with the world-class faculty at Michigan State’s Department of Supply Chain Management,” said DCAT Executive Director Margaret Timony. “The DCAT organization is committed to providing unique, expert-driven education programs for our Member Companies, and we are pleased to offer this one-of-a-kind learning opportunity with MSU’s Supply Chain Management faculty, who are considered the voice of the Supply Chain Management field, as an added benefit to DCAT Member Companies.”
The DCAT/MSU partnership will offer four education programs in 2022. The first, Supply Chain Digitalization, Business Analytics & Technology Applications, was held in New York City during DCAT Week 2022 and was presented by Dr. Cheri Speier-Pero, the Ernst & Young Professor in Accounting and Information Systems and Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs at MSU’s Broad College of Business. The remaining three programs in 2022 will be held online. Programs are open to all employees of DCAT Member Companies.
“We are excited to begin a partnership with DCAT, the premier association for the Global Bio/Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Value Chain and host of the topmost global event for Bio/Pharmaceutical organizations,” said Marcie Stowell, Assistant Director in Executive Development Programs in The Broad College of Business at Michigan State University. “The Broad College is committed to creating positive change, connecting the dots, and solving global business programs. Partnering with DCAT, an organization with very similar objectives, is a great way to share our expertise with executives and support business development and innovation.”
DCAT’s volunteer-led Supply Management Committee was instrumental in bringing the partnership to fruition.
“As supply chain management continues to evolve, these programs will be invaluable to supply management professionals at DCAT Member Companies looking to stay informed of the latest trends and issues affecting the industry,” said Pedro Diaz Ferran, Senior Procurement Director, Primary Packaging, GlaxoSmithKline, and chair of DCAT’s Supply Management Committee.
