DCAT Webinar Focuses on How to Build Your Brand on LinkedIn

Robbinsville, New Jersey February 4, 2020 – Earlier this month, DCAT member company representatives enjoyed a complimentary webinar entitled Bite-Sized Tips to Build Your Brand on LinkedIn. Mary Fain Brandt, a career consultant and CEO/Founder of The LinkedIn Bakery, led an engaging presentation on how to create, develop, and launch a personal online brand in order to increase credibility and networking opportunities on LinkedIn.

The webinar is part of a series organized by the DCAT Alliance for Industry Women Committee. Sponsored by Colorcon, all attendees received key tips and a free resource guide based on Brandt’s “connect, cultivate, and convert” method.

Brandt kicked-off the presentation by stating, “Now more than ever people are looking at your LinkedIn profile. What does it say about you?” Even when in-person events return in 2022, she believes you’ll still need an online network because most gatherings will be hybrid, with several individuals still choosing to attend online.

Brandt also discussed the art of connecting and growing your online brand while maintaining a sense of relatability and authenticity. A LinkedIn profile should include a professional photo, “hot” headline, and a unique/personable background. Brandt explained that LinkedIn is a networking platform and not just for job searches – “Your job or career might change, but your personal brand doesn’t – it goes with you.” Therefore, it’s important to clearly communicate who you are, what you stand for, and what value you can offer.
