New Pilot Program
The Qualified Trusted Importer Program:

An Initiative to Re-Engineer Import
Border Processes

Wednesday, March 17, 2010
8:30 am - 11:45 am, Empire Room
Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, NYC

Member: $99; Non-Member: $299

Program Description:

Four major pharmaceutical companies, Abbott, Merck, Novartis and Pfizer, are currently involved in a new initiative called the Qualified Trusted Importer Program. The program seeks to move away from traditional border management processes. It proposes an alternative to a disconnected multiple agency process and offers instead a more efficient voluntary solution based on internal controls. It embraces the concept of a "single window" relationship between traders and the agencies that regulate them and protect our health and safety.

This program will explore whether the industry can break away from the established border management techniques for imported products and adopt a new model based on principles of risk management and self monitoring.

They will also review the legislative process that could create green lane status for companies that import pharmaceutical, medical device and biologic products into the US.

Haven’t heard of this initiative? Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about it first…. at DCAT Week 2010!
