About DCAT: Who We Are

Founded in 1890, Drug, Chemical & Associated Technologies Association, Inc. (DCAT) is the premier business development association whose membership is comprised of companies that manufacture, distribute or provide services to the pharmaceutical, chemical, nutritional and related industries.

DCAT member companies represent the entire spectrum of the PharmaChem industry—from pharmaceutical, API, excipient and dietary supplement sales and manufacturing to distribution, support technologies and packaging products and services. DCAT is the only association that brings the industry’s buyers and sellers together, providing services, programs and events designed to support the business development objectives of its membership.

At DCAT education programs and networking events, member company representatives learn about industry trends, as well as make important contacts, dialogue with counterparts in other member companies, and build relationships with current and potential customers.

Attended by thousands of industry professionals, DCAT Week and the DCAT Annual Dinner, held each March at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City, are considered the PharmaChem industry’s premier events. Other annual programs, include the Strategic Sourcing Summit & Showcase, KYI: Know Your Industry, and the DCAT Scholarship Golf Outing, a key funding vehicle for DCAT's scholarship initiatives.

The DCAT Science Education-Excellence for the Future Program, administered in conjunction with the National Science Teacher Association (NSTA) strives to recognize and support science education programs and their educators who, through their passion for the field of science, prepare and inspire the future leaders of our industry. Annually, the DCAT Making a Difference Award is presented to outstanding middle and high school science educators at the NSTA National Conference on Science Education.

Prior to 2003, the organization was known as The Drug, Chemical & Allied Trades Association.
