On or about June 1st of each year, the association’s Leadership Development Committee will send notices to its member contacts and post notice on this website announcing that applications for seats on the Board of Directors are being accepted for the organization’s upcoming fiscal year which begins November 1st.
The Board of Directors is composed of four officers, five directors and two immediate past presidents. They have the authority and responsibility for the governance of the organization. The members serve as thought leaders who develop and guide the organization’s strategic plan, establish and implement policy, and manage financial matters in order to best serve the member companies. Responsibilities include monthly conference calls, in-person meetings, project management, and participation in organizational events. The member company of a Board member must show support and commitment for attendance at association meetings, travel and sponsorship, and the volunteer time and effort towards furthering the goals of the association.
The Leadership Development Committee is comprised of the four (4) Board officers, the Immediate Past President and three members of the Advisory Council who have been selected by their peers. They begin their process of reviewing applications and interviewing candidates from June through August. Applicants are notified about their applications as early as September. Those selected will begin their term on November 1st.
Currently the organization is seeking applications during the period of June 1, 2018 to July 18, 2018 for the following:
Please note: At the May 22, 2018, DCAT Board of Directors meeting held in New York City, the Board directed the Leadership Development Committee to suspend the nomination and election process for six (6) new members of the Advisory Council. At scheduled upcoming meetings of the Board of Directors, more thorough discussions and evaluation of the current structure is planned. These decisions will determine if a restructure of the Council towards more focused activities would add value to the organization and its member companies. The Board has targeted their December 2018 meeting to make a final determination. Therefore, the nomination and election process for the Advisory Council and its six (6) elected three-year term seats is temporarily suspended. Click here to read the Board's Message.
